Horus Heresy Unit Reviews

So Warhammer 40,000 is a game I played for an extended period of time, getting serious about it in 2001, and staying playing it consistently for 13 years.

However as with many things my interest Waned with the Codex creep and speed at which everything change, 7th Edition, which I still havent had a game of, didnt even interest me enough to pick up the rules.

The one constant throughout my involvement with 40k, has been the background.

My brother and I jointly picked up the first two Horus Heresy books from Forgeworld, and having an army of my own representing one of these chapters has always been on my hobby bucket list.

With the upcoming release of Plastic Heresy models the temptation has increased tenfold, and while I know I can't just walk out and pick up the new box when its release (apparently food for a six month old takes priority!) its on my radar, and has got me revisiting all my thoughts about the Era.

So, I cant get the models at the moment, but like all good hobbyists, that shouldnt stop me planning what I want to do!

So whats first?

Well picking a legion is pretty high on my list of things to do. Starting at the beginning the first army I ever owned was a Chaos one from back in 2nd Edition. Abaddon the Despoiler was one of my first Characters, with Fabius Bile closely following.

The Sons of Horus are a huge temptation, the protagonists of the Heresy, with Horus in the army it is one I am not sure that I can resist.

Beyond them I am looking at the Ultramarines, I have always loved their structure, with many books within the Series itself lending me to think that as the creator of the Chapters they have a place in my heart.

So in my searching on the internet to figure out what I can about the legions I stumbled across a fellow blogger that I have been following for a while, although I hadnt been to his blog for a while.

JabberJabber has done a lot of work on reviewing all of the units, rules, Primarchs released thus far in the Horus Heresy books.

If you are interested in finding out a bit more about the 30k era and the units available, I would strongly recommend heading over...

In the mean time I am going to continue to plan out which of the 18 Legions I fancy building up!

Thanks for the link mate!
And also good to see others are reading the posts / theory crafting.
I promise I'll get around to reviewing the Ultramarines units pretty soon. Hopefully before the end of this month. I'm just in the process of finishing off the Questoris Knights from book 4, before moving on to book 5!

I look forward to your future reviews :-), and I am pretty sure I will be linking your blog / specific posts in the future!
